Warranty Policy


At Retro Spares, we stand behind the quality of the products we supply. Warranty periods and coverage may vary depending on the manufacturer or brand of the product purchased. All warranties apply in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Manufacturer Warranty

Many products sold by Retro Spares carry a manufacturer warranty. Warranty periods, terms, and conditions are determined by the original manufacturer and may differ between brands and product types.

Examples:

  • Products included a 12-month manufacturer warranty i.e Auto Cables, Vintage Air
  • Third-party branded items may have separate manufacturer warranty conditions

What Is Covered

Where applicable, warranty coverage generally includes:

 ✔ Defects in materials or workmanship
✔ Manufacturing faults under normal intended use
✔ Replacement or repair of defective parts (subject to manufacturer approval)

Warranty claims are assessed in accordance with the manufacturer’s policy and Australian Consumer Law.

What Is NOT Covered

Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, warranties do NOT cover:

 ✘ Labour costs
✘ Diagnostic fees
✘ Installation or fitting costs
✘ Removal or reinstallation costs
✘ Freight or transport costs associated with warranty claims
✘ Damage caused by incorrect installation
✘ Improper use, modification, misuse, neglect, or accidents
✘ Normal wear and tear or consumable/service items
✘ Damage caused by contamination, incorrect maintenance, or unsuitable operating conditions
✘ Damage resulting from using products outside manufacturer recommendations

Third-Party Components

Some products or components supplied by Retro Spares may carry their own manufacturer warranty. In these cases, warranty claims will be subject to the original manufacturer’s terms and approval process.

Making a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please contact Retro Spares with:

  • Proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation)
  • Photos showing the issue (where applicable)
  • Detailed description of the fault
  • Any supporting information requested for assessment

Claims may require the item to be returned for inspection before approval. Warranty claims cannot be processed without sufficient information or proof of purchase.

Warranty Assessment

All warranty claims are assessed by Retro Spares and/or the original manufacturer. Approval of claims is at the discretion of the manufacturer where applicable.

Warranty remedies may include:

  • Replacement part
  • Repair of the product
  • Refund or credit (where required under Australian Consumer Law)

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
