These door-operated switches control the interior courtesy light when the vehicle doors are opened and closed. When a door opens, the switch activates the courtesy lighting circuit, allowing the interior light to illuminate. When the door closes, the switch returns to its closed-door position, allowing the light to switch off.

Ideal for replacing faulty, worn, corroded or missing original door switches that cause interior lights to stop working, remain illuminated or operate intermittently. Supplied as a pair, these replacement switches are suitable for classic Holden interior electrical repairs and restorations.

Installation Notes:

Before installation, disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent accidental short circuits while working on the courtesy light wiring.

Locate the existing courtesy lamp switch in the door opening or door jamb. Carefully remove the original switch, taking care not to damage the surrounding paintwork or electrical wiring.

Disconnect the existing wiring and inspect the electrical terminals for corrosion, loose connections or damaged insulation.

Compare the replacement switches with the originals to confirm the correct mounting arrangement, electrical terminals and switch operation.

Connect the existing wiring to the replacement switch and position it in the original mounting location. Ensure the switch is securely fitted and that its operating plunger moves freely.

Repeat the process for the second switch if replacing both sides.

Reconnect the battery and test the interior courtesy light by opening and closing each door. The light should activate when the door opens and switch off when the door closes, subject to the vehicle's original lighting circuit.

If the interior light still does not operate correctly, inspect the courtesy light bulb, wiring, fuse, earth connections and associated electrical components.
